Born and raised in Provo, Utah, Sidney has always had a love for the outdoors. He has a passion for hunting and fishing, and is now actively involved in his new passion for endurance sports, such as triathlons. However Sid wasn’t always able to participate in these activities like he wanted to...
Sidney was born with a condition called Charcot-Marie-Tooth Disorder, sometimes referred to as CMT. Sid’s family first noticed the symptoms when Sid was about twelve years old. He dealt with pain and difficulty walking all through his teenage years. Severe deformity eventually overcame his feet, which ultimately led to his decision to amputate both of his legs.
Recently, MTN OPS and V6 Media produced a very inspirational video about Sid, providing an overview of this double-amputee's life and history, as well as highlighting his personal drive and determination to not be brought down by his obstacles. Sid is a very positive individual, yet will be the first to tell you that he is a regular person, and not perfect by any means. He has good times and hard times, just like anyone else. Yet, Sidney chooses to dig deep during the struggles, and overcome his fears. As Sid will tell you, it’s okay to fail as long as you keep trying, and progressing.
