Transition Wild | Backcountry Archery Elk Hunting - Charlie Williams and Josh Foster

Episode Summary

On today’s episode, I’m joined by my good friends, Charlie Williams and Josh Foster, where they relive their first archery elk hunt from last Fall.

Episode Notes

It’s not very often that you hear of first time elk hunters who go in blind, to the remote backcountry on their very first elk hunt and actually kill an elk. On today’s episode, I’m joined by my good friends, Charlie Williams and Josh Foster, where they relive their first archery elk hunt from last Fall. They set out in search of adventure and they came home with countless memories and a once in a lifetime colorado bull.

In addition to reliving the series of events that unfolded during their two-week public land OTC elk hunt, we talk about gear, physical, and mental preparation leading up to the trip. We also talk about digital scouting and the deciding factors for picking an initial location as well as how they had to relocate to plan B when the first spot didn't pan out. If you plan on hunting elk in 2018 with a bow, you won’t want to miss this podcast!
